RSPS Visit to Andhra Pardesh India March 24 To 31 2007.

 

RSPs Team Visit Andhra Pradesh, India

24th to 30th March 2007 

The senior management of the RSPs, including the Board of Directors and CEOs paid a visit to SERP (Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty) in Andhra Pradesh, India.

 The RSP team observed the organizations Indira Kranthi Patham project. The project is a state-wide community demand driven rural poverty alleviation programme, dedicated to improve the quality of life for 8 million rural poor households, paying special attention towards 3 million of the poorer rural families in the state. 

 The team had the opportunity to interact with the local community activists and community members who had successfully escaped the clutches of poverty in the short span of three years. Therefore, the project proved the magnitude of social mobilizations impact on poverty alleviation. Due to its success, the team intends to replicate the project into their own respective programmes.
