Rural Support Programmes (RSPs) Response to 2022 Heavy Rains and Floods Affected Areas of Pakistan

John Snow Inc (JSI) under its USAID-funded Integrated Health System Strengthening and Service Delivery (IHSS-SD) Activity has joined hands with provincial health departments to provide support to increase uptake of COVID-19 vaccination.
RSPN is implementing this projectin 18 target districts (11 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 07 from Sindh). The project will support the provincial governments to increase demand of COVID-19 vaccination in low performing Union Councils. JSI will support the provincial departments of health by establishingCOVID-19 Vaccination Centres (CVC)to increase vaccination coverage. RSPN is implementing this project in partnership with three Rural Support Programmes, i.e., National Rural Support (NRSP), Sarhad Rural Support Programmes (SRSP) and Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO).
The duration of this project is 07 months (March-September 2022) including 15 days of the inception phase. The implementation phase of the project is focused on the identification and sensitisation of the un-vaccinated population from catchment areas of COVID Vaccination Centers (CVC) and referrals for COVID-19 vaccination services.
In the province of Sindh, SRSO is implementing the project in(07 districts) i.e., Sukkur, Shikarpur, Kamber Shadadkot, Larkana, Shaheed Benazir Abad, NausheroFeroz, and Khairpur.In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, SRSP is implementing the project in (09 districts) Lower Chitral, D.I. Khan, Haripur, Khyber, Kohat, LakkiMarwat, Mansehra, Mohmand and Bajur. NRSP is implementing the project in Nowshera and Swabi.
Identification and sensitisation of un-vaccinated population from catchment areas of COVID Vaccination Centers and referrals for COVID-19 vaccination services.
Advocacy conducted with key influencers to mobilise the community for the promotion of COVID-19 vaccination among unvaccinated people (above 12 years of age).
Demand creation &interpersonal communication, identification, and referrals of un-vaccinated people for COVID-19 vaccination from the target population.
Facilitate outreach vaccination services for vaccination of un-vaccinated population in the target district
It is expected that the project will reach approximately11,477,466 population through different mobilisation activities and it is estimated that approximately 2,139,840 people above 12 years of age will get vaccinated at CVCs.
